I just finished this monster book and I must say I really really liked it. I won't read anything by King for a while and then I come back to one of his books and wonder why I ever left, I really love his style of writing. |

I really enjoyed "Under the Dome," and I am not usually a King fan. But I also list "The Stand" as one of my all-time favorites. Some of his books are just too scary for me. I'm not big on serious horror, but I can deal with post-Apocalypse :) |

Loved Under the Dome, this was SK back at his suspenseful best. I read almost everything he writes but have recently but very disappointed with most of his output until this one. |

I enjoyed Under the Dome, but the ending IMO was a cop out. SPOILERS: I expected a lot more interpersonal drama instead of 90% of the characters being killed off and the rest left to face some alien being. I get the analogy of kids torturing ants, but after the drama between the politician, his psycho son, etc. vs. Barbie and the rest of the good townspeople, I thought there'd be more showing how the people had to deal with the aftermath of their decision to side with the politician and let the town become a police state. |

I mostly enjoyed it, but it's not one of my favorite King novels. |

@ Karen! Oh, no, this is on my wish list! I'm a HUGE King fan, ever since he started, my first King book ever was The Stand and I've been hooked ever since. There were some books I didn't like because of too much gore, like Misery and Delores Claiborne, but he has since come back to his roots and I can't wait to read The Dome. |

I really liked this book, but was also a little disappointed by the ending. I just felt after such a long journey there should have been a little more climatic ending. The book kept me engaged though, and it didn't feel like it was as long as it was because it was interesting. I have read a few other Stephen King's and I have a varying opinion of his writing. Some books are great, others are a little too out there for me. This one was worth the time though. |

I loved this book! Easily went to the top of my list of all-time favorites from Stephen King. Just seeing these posts makes me want to go back and read it again. |

I saw a copy of UTD at the airport and fell in love with the cover. In fact it's the picture on my monitor. I also read a sample on my e-reader and got hooked. I've never tackled a 1000+ page book, but King's plots are usually fast so I'll give it a try. |

I really liked UTD as well. S. King's writing is outstanding and I love the dialogue between the characters. I found myself lol at times. |

Currently at page 250 or so of this monster book. Yeah, King's dialogue is hilarious at times. Also some scenes are just funny in a what the heck way? For example, when Sloppy Sammy was being booted of the store King writes that Sammy was farting on his way out, pop, pop, pop. I mean, what the? Who thinks of details like that?
King does! LOL. |
