Had heard this was a very highly rated book and looked forward to reading it. Not being able to follow the movie on TCM should have been a clue. This is one of few books I just could not like. My limit these days is 25 pages, and after that I checked reviews. Apparently a lot of book critics think this is a masterpiece, but a lot of readers agree with me that it was not worth my time. Apparently you either love this story or give up on it, and I am in the second group.
