I think I've read a thousand historical romances, and this one is a disappointment. Hanging over the whole storyline is the fact that the hero has been severely discredited, is being shunned, & does nothing about it.
He's a heavy drinker, & makes some serious mistakes - human, true, but I like a little more in my heroes. This one has very little to recommend himself.

Third book of a series. First two are "Unlaced" and "Unveiled" Have not read the first two and got along fine reading this one.
Looking at the cover you might think this is a modern romance. The story begins in 1793, when the heroine is born. However, it is a good tale.
