Kind of a dark mystery, romance with lots of twists and turns. You can kind of figure out who the killer is about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through but you're never sure how they're going to do things next so it keeps you reading.
Excellent book! Very interesting story - hard to put down!
I read this book years ago, it was my first Patricia Macdonald book. I enjoyed it so much then and was thrilled that it was rereleased. It held up pretty well over time, even though you could tell there had been a long time since it was written ie: no cell phones, computers, etc in the story. However, I still think this author compares favorably to Mary Higgins Clark with her books. This was an exciting page-turner, I was glad to visit with Maggie and Jess again.
This is one of Patricia MacDonald's early books and it was very good..very dark, ominous and kind of sad..but had a good ending. The heroin seemed a tad weak to me, but perhaps the author meant her to be...?
Great read, couldn't put it down. Read it in a night.
Maggie Fraser has spent the last 12 years in prison for the murder of the man she loved--a crime she didn't committ. Now Maggie is free and ready to forget and begin a new life. ON a quiet island off the coast of New Englan she accepts a job with a local newspaper. Then the nightmare begins...again...
A good, quick read. A mystery with a twist. Good characters.
