Decent historical mystery with lots of period detail, but somehow I just couldn't get into the characters. Maybe you need to start with the first of the Matthew Bartholomew series to really appreciate it. Of course, I did finish it, which means it couldn't have been too bad!

I really liked this story! It was equally packed with details and action like the first, but it commanded better control and flow. Plenty of intrigue, mayhem and plot twists to keep me turning the pages until late into the night.
