Very intricate plotting & a Gideon Fell-type protagonist. Set in academe in UK & quite intriguing.

A quick read (at 119 pages), set in an English University, it's not really a great puzzle, but it's an okay way to pass some time. The Professor is a little too familiar to readers of John Dickson Carr (the books of whom the professor actually mentions reading.) (Originally published in 1945.)
