I just received a book today and a chunk measuring about 3/4" x 3.5" has been cut out of the flyleaf on the top edge.  It looks like someone did this to remove a name or address that had been in the upper corner of the page.  It is the flyleaf, so maybe that's okay?  I hope so, because I'll probably repost this book.

Thanks! =0)

Is it an ex-library book? Those usually have the electronic ID thingy cut out. I don't know if it would count as the same on a normal book or not. I've never had anyone complain about the ex-libs on me, but I supposed the could.

Yes, it does have a discarded stamp on the flyleaf and the usual dewey decimal label on the spine.
