This book was just not as good as the first three. The time line of the book really got to me. I find it hard to believe that all of the things Zoey and her friends went through happened in two measly months! The other thing that annoyed me was Zoey's flip-flopping between all of her "boyfriends". Her hormones definitely needed toning down and I just didn't want to read about it anymore. The plot was interesting, but I'm getting to the point where I am not starting to care about what is happening. I'm not as anxious to read the next book as I was previously.

This is #4 in the series and the 5th in the series is not yet released! In this book, PC and Kristin Cast outdid themselves by leaving us at the edge of the high high cliff!

Zoey and her friends are about to blaze a new trail.

If you haven't read this series, it is a vampire series, but a new kind of vamp, that doesn't feed on humans......most of the time, and is very engaging and if you aren't reading it you're wondering what is going to happen and when you are reading it you are wondering what is going to happen. If you do happen to put the book down, you will be anxious for time to pick it up and read it again!!!

This is considered young adult, but if you like vamps, you will enjoy this series!! Twilight is really hard to beat, but this comes in a close 2nd I think!!

This is the fourth book in the House of Night series and was by far the best book of the series. It is the only book in the series so far that I have felt comfortable saying I really liked it and enjoyed the story.

With the murders of the teachers in the third book things are beginning to come to a head in this book. Zoey is out of boyfriends, so to speak, so of course she is absolutely enchanted by the new kid in school, Stark. With Stevie Rae somewhat her normal self, she takes a back seat in this story but still plays a few big parts as a new type of vampire. The mythos developed in this story around the evil Nefertiti was engaging and very interesting. Nefertiti is here in all her evil glory; and man is she evil.

Zoey without boyfriends is awesome because Zoey is actually focused on the actual plot and this makes for a way more interesting book than the last one was. So, for everyone who hung on with the series despite the barely okay third book, you are rewarded in this book. Things really come to a climax in this book; it makes me extremely grateful that I have book 5 on hand. Things pretty much end in the middle of everything and if you had to wait for the 5th book to come out you would be pulling your hair out.

So, all in all, this was a great book. I hope that things continue to be as good in the fifth book. I love the characters; the writing quality is still mediocre at best, but it is a fun and quick read.

This series surprised me. It is marketed to teens and written about teen vampires, but the books have a more mature theme and dialogue to them than most of the books of the teenage genre. Written in the first person, it does give a more clear idea of what is going on in the main character's head. There are a lot of creepy elements including dark magic, invoking evil spirits and blood rituals. Warning: the characters in this book are teenagers who are quite promiscuous (even includes teacher/student and child/adult sexual relationships). Good story, good writing, not a great idea for young teenagers or those that would be offended by the sex and dark magic issues.

Loved IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right off the bat, this is my favorite book of The House of Night series. Yes, it's only book 4, but it is fantastic. This book doesn't deal with Zoey's love life as much as the others have. I'm all for the ooey-gooey bits, but this one does well without her having a boy (or man) in her life. It focuses on Zoey coming into her own and she is beginning to portray the high priestess that she really is.

A new character, Stark, is introduced, but his part is just too short in this book, so I'm hoping there will be more to come of him in the future books. Neferet has truly gone evil and Aphrodite is, gasp, nice! I finally like Aphrodite and am happy to read about her snobby self without wanting to smack her. Zoey's Grandma comes to stay at The House of Night and it is easy to feel the love all of the fledglings feel towards this woman. The Cast's did a wonderful job of weaving Cherokee stories into the book for both background purposes and featuring the tales up front and center.

The novel is a quick read because it's just so hard to put it down. The book comes to a close in the midst of the action and you are left unaware of what's happened to some of the characters outside of the main group of friends. It is the biggest cliffhanger of the series thus far, leaving us waiting to find out how Zoey will save the world.

Untamed definitely continues the darker themes that gathered steam in Chosen. After Aphrodite shares her visions that show Zoey dying and Zoey is attacked in the night by unseen forces, the group moves forward in trying to discover what Neferet is planning and how the red fledglings will fit into it.

While Zoey's romantic struggles take a back seat to the events taking place during Untamed, the friendships become stronger. I love the relationship between Zoey and her grandmother, and the fact that her friends are included in their feelings helps to bring some stability in a wild situation.

But this series just keeps improving, and I am hooked. I can't wait to see where Nyx is going to lead her Dark Daughter next.

All the house of Night books are highly entertaining. My daughter who is 16 said I HAD to read them, and she was right. I couldn't stop until I had read the whole series. This Untamed one was very good. I recommend all of them.

Zoey Redbird just can't seem to get it right.

After losing three potential boyfriends, alienating her closest vampyre buddies, and incurring the wrath of her mentor, Neferet, Zoey is on a downward spiral to Loserville. This young high priestess-in-training has a lot on her plate since transferring to the House of Night. Her abilities are creating quite a stir on campus and Zoey is not used to having all the attention on her.

Since her recent admittance into the vampyre school, things have changed, and not for the better.

Professors are being murdered, fledglings are disappearing, and Neferet has declared war on all humans. Stevie Rae, Zoey's best friend, has been transformed into another type of vampyre, and Aphrodite, Zoey's one-time nemesis, has regained her humanity, but continues to have life-altering visions. Zoey must use all of her abilities to unite those who wish to save the House of Night and its loyal inhabitants.

The Cast duo has created yet another excellent addition to the HOUSE OF NIGHT series. It is easy to see why these novels have become so popular; the stories are well-written, and the dialogue is at times extremely clever and sometimes biting. Young adult readers can relate to the mundane, everyday-ness of Zoey's activities (i.e.going to class, having arguments with friends, etc.), while losing themselves in the otherworldly aspects of the students' lives.

This is a definite must-read for fans of the House of Night!

I think that this is a great and addicting series. It actually accurately represents how teens talk and act (even though it's really annoying sometimes) so some adults who have blinders on may find it unbelievable with all the swearing and sex. I find it so much better than a couple of other teen vampire series just because the characters aren't all emo and constantly making me want to stake them myself. It's a fast-paces and quick read and I hope the series is around for awhile.

All of the House of Night books are really good. The way the characters act and think can be immature, but I still enjoyed the plot line. I've read them all, and can't wait to until the next one comes out!

P.S. - The setting is in Oklahoma, which I thought was really cool.. since I'm from there and all.

Being a 38 year old woman, I was not too sure about reading another "teen" book series (The Twilight Saga being the first). I loved this series almost as much as the Twilight saga. This series has a very different take on vamps but is still great! I have referred and even lent my books to my 14 year old to read. Very captivating series! It keeps you wanting to read more and more! It was very hard putting the books down!! A definite read for anyone who enjoys The Twilight Saga.

I should have done this right after I read the book. Weeks later....I remember I loved it and was thrilled to hear there will be another book! This series has come a long way from it's nearly detestable start. I am a fan. :)

Mega cliff hanger at the end of this one. I would recommend not reading this until at least the next book comes out (March 2009), if not until the whole series is out.

I LOVE Cast's work though!

I've enjoyed reading The House of Night Series so far. I can't say that Untamed was my favorite one, but I do believe that it is a pivotal key to the series. Must read this if you expect to continue on to the next.

Again a really good read in this series. There is not a big push in the romance area in this book. The writer seems to really focus in on the pending war that is about to be unleashed. I do like the way the writer has entwined spirituality with religion. Just like the great flood in Noah's day can be found in many other religions and histories and stories. I am ready for Zoey to find some romance again. I can see that Stark is going to be someone to watch out for in the up coming books.

I read this book in one night when I snagged it at Wal-Mart two days before it was released. I love the references that PC & Kristen make to actors and other writers. They are so great! I hope they end up making the House of Night series at LEAST 100 books! Since JK Rowling let us down with only 7, and Stephanie Meyer with only 4, come on Cast's!! Bring on the Zoey!

I was a little sceptical about this series. I had heard it was like a cross of Twilight and Harry Potter... I can see how it got that description, but I must say, I have thoroughly enjoyed the books. I am currently waiting for book 5 right now.

Fourth book in the House of Night series, which follows a teenage fledgling vampire through her training. Very well written; intriguing story line.

If you have read the three books leading up to this one, you will be delighted and overwhelmed at how awesome the fourth one is. I love the pace of the "House of Night" series. It is New Years Eve and even though only months have lapsed since the beginning of the first book, everything is happening fast and furious. I won't give away any of the details but it was great. Off to read book 5 "Hunted"!
