I've always liked his writing (and his philosophy), but a set of rash statements beginning in chapter 5, about lawyers - "perhaps there is poetic beauty in the abstract ideas of justice or fairness, but I doubt if many lawyers are moved by it." In my experience, many lawyers (the ones that I know from law school) are moved by the beauty of justice or fairness, maybe not all (and not me), but many of my friends could and did feel very strongly about it. Since the premise of this book is that science doesn't ruin the "beauty" of the world, and that scientists are creating more beauty in their search for truth, it is interesting that he doesn't extend the same courtesy to those searching for "justice".
