A story about a boy, his family, his dog, and their life homesteading in Montana. It is not "War and Peace", but a delightful book in which you will find much to enjoy in this timeless tale and hopefully it shall leave you with the peace it left within me.

How a growing up boy should be able to experience life on America's last Frontier. This is an unforgettable story. he great plateau of Montana was America's last frontier when young Dale Eunson arrived there with his parents. On this virgin land they would stake out their homestead and stake their futures. This is the story of growing up in that place, at that time. It is the story of youthful dreams and adult realities, hope and heartbreak, hardship and struggle, simple virtues and stubborn courage. On these vivid pages are brought to life an America that we should never forget-and a family that every reader will long remember. Family love, hard work, the long hike to school, the finger feel of wheat, the hawk wheeling against the big sky, how much a dog can mean to a boy, how big the first Model T seemed, how important was the country dance...The journey back in time has seldom been traveled in a fresher style..
