I remembered that I was going to post an update on how Sierra was doing on Glycoflex II.  So, here I am :)  I started giving it to her in August.  I've been giving her  1/2 tablet every day since then.  I didn't know what to expect since she turned 12 in September, is an amputee, and has arthritis in her only back hip & leg.

I didn't noticed any difference until about the end of September.  First, her mood seems better.  She seems more alert, spry, and cheery. She started doing things like laying on her back and kicking out her leg (something she couldn't do before because she would always fall to the heavy side) Second, her bad days have gone down.  It seems to be holding through the winter.  Last year at this time she was in horrible shape.  I noticed stiffness in her almost everyday.  She had several bouts between November and January where she would tweak her leg and then could not walk for a day or two.  She has not had one of those days yet this winter despite all the holiday week activities and us carting her around Christmas Eve and Christmas Afternoon.

So, I would say this stuff is worth the money.  As I'm giving her half a tablet, I'm still working on the first bottle.  It seems to working well.  She is still on 3/4 Deramaxx tablet a day, but that is the same dose when she was first diagnosed with arthritis a year and a half ago.

Anyone else tried Glycoflex?  Are you getting good results?

I have my Yorkie Damia on glycoflex.  She's about 10 years old and has joint problems.  It's one of those things where the vet says it's not quite bad enough to operate on but she limps sometimes so it does cause her some degree of discomfort.  My vet recommended a glucosamine suplement so started her on Glycoflex II a couple months ago.  It does seem like she's limping a lot less now, I'd definitely say it's worth it.  One note to others that might be thinking about trying it.  It comes in a chewable table form that says it's meat flavored, but Damia doesn't like it.  I tried initially just mixing it in with her food and she'll carefully eat around it.  Now I crush it up and sprinkle it on top so it's a little harder for her to avoid.

Glad it seems to helping Sierra out too!

Lea, I'm surprised your dog doesn't like it.  Sierra thinks it's her extra added bonus for the day.  LOL  She loves it.

I'm glad you are getting results.  I didn't expect alot because Sierra is an amputee and the worst arthritis is in her back hip of the remaining leg.  Add that to the fact that she is now 12 1/2 and has had cancer.  But, it does seem to help.  She seems a little more lively too, which is nice.
