If I want a book?  If there are 4 or 5 copies of a hardcover, that sure eats up my wishlist total.

Nope. You can Wish List one version, two versions...as many as you want. If you want a specific version, just Wish List that one.

Thanks Erica, but I guess I should be more specific.  I don't *care* which ISBN I receive, I just want the book in hardcover.

So, basically, I never really know what to do when I'm putting these on my WL.  But, like I said, if I have to mark 5 of 'em, and they all look the same to me, that sure eats up my Wishlist totals.

I once received an email from the system, I think?  that said something like "a book you want is available in another ISBN" or something like that?

Just wondering how I can WL some books without listing 5 or 6.  To me, the options are HB and PB   LOL  As long as I get "the" book I want, in the binding I want, I really don't care.

The only advice I can offer is that once a list starts to 'move' you can usually see which version(s) of a WL book are getting posted, and remove all versions but the one or two that are obviously the version you're going to get.

One of the hardcovers may be a Large Print book, so you may eliminate that one if you don't want LP. Then you may want to either pick the most recent editions and/or the ones with the smallest wishlist number. You can click on the amazon button to see each book. Some of the hardcovers on amazon may be only available through thriough their sellers, so maybe even harder to get at PBS as well.

If you want to be in line for all the hardcovers then they all need to be on your WL.  The "other versions" email doesn't work if the other versions are also WL because if ones posted it automatically gets offered to the first inline. I personally don't care which version or binding I get and WL them all. But I do Rick suggested: if I need WL space-I'll delete a version of a WL book that isn't being posted if there's another version that is actively being posted.
