Ok, I signed up a while ago, but just started swapping books in the last 2 weeks.  Everything seems to be going well with what I've gotten posted and I've mailed and received several books so far.  Everything I have posted up until now have been books which were new when I bought them.

I also get books from a used bookstore that stamps their address is red ink in the inside of the front cover and a price on the introductory page (the one across from the cover).  Are these ok to post?  Do I need to make a note somehow that they are from a used bookstore and have these markings?  I noticed that one of them shows as being on someone's wish list but I don't know whether to post or not and how to let them know it is from used bookstore in case they don't want it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks

go ahead and post it.  If they don't want books from a used book store then there will be a condition that you will see (it really is unavoidable you can't miss it) with their conditions, if it says nothing about used book stores consider it fine to send.  Also if no conditions pop up consider it fine to send.  Unless the book is really in awful shape or doesn't meet PBS guidlines for stains, tears, cleaved spines or missing page.

Good luck!

and if it's one on my WL I am tickled to accept used book store books!

Welcome to the site!  I love it here.  I used to get most of my books from the UBS, too.  Now I can't drive there (40 mi. away), so I buy new books on sale online when I can't wait for a WL book.  These are all ging to be used books anyway - can't get away from that so don't stress too much.  Just make sure it is a book you would like to receive and doesn't have water damage of any kind, stains, underlining or writing (except for textbooks), or covers missing, or dirty (referring to the actual book here - not necessarily the content!  LOL!!) books .   If you wouldn't mind getting it then it's probably good to go.  Like Tammy said anyone who is picky will have conditions that will be the first thing you see when you see the request.  Don't try to be a mind reader though.  Life is too short.

I've posted and sent plenty of books with book store stamps and price tags on them. So far, no complaints. Of course, just saying that will probably jinx it.

Thanks!  I posted the book as it is in great condition.  I even looked at Tammy's wishlist and although this wasn't wasn't on there, I can see that there is a good chance she'll get some of my books down the road as we seem to have very similar tastes!

The only way I could afford to read as much as I do before finding this site was the UBS, so I'm very excited to find PBS - thanks for the help, and taking the time to work with a newbie!
