but, three books have been marked delivered and not marked received.

I realize there are several reasons why not - they have less than a week to go before PBS will be involved.  I've checked out the Help Docs but unless I just didn't read them tight I don't see my questions addressed.

This is somewhat silly - or maybe my mind is on a vacation.

I do have my credits.  If the books do legimately go lost do I keep my credits?

ETA Spell check where are you!

This is from the HC:

If you sent the book with Delivery Confirmation and it has been recorded as delivered by USPS but hasn't been marked received yet:

  • Remember that the book could have been scanned as "delivered" at the local PO, before it went to the requestor's mailbox--the actual delivery can be a few days later  Also, the book could have been misdelivered.
  • You should FIRST contact the requestor using the  "PM"button on the transaction on the Books I've Mailed tab in My Account when a few days have passed after delivery.
  • If the requestor does not respond to your PM within a week, and has not marked the book received by a week after the delivery scan, contact us.  We will look into it.
  • If you used DC purchased through PBS, or PBS Printed postage, you will already have gotten your credit for sending the book.

Hope this helps  :  )

ed b/c cut & paste from the HC never formats for me  :  (

ed again b/c - yes, you do keep your credits, even if they go lost.  That's the Credit Assurance part of using PBS DC.

If they are a few days from going lost, then PBS will normally send them an email about it.  BUT the help doc does say to email them if after a few days has passed and they haven't marked them recieved.
I would send a PM saying you noticed that DC had them delivered but since they werent recieved, did they get the books if not please let you know so you can contact USPS to search for them.

xengab, that's what I was thinking of doing.  Contacting the people and asking if they did get the books and if they haven't I would contact USPS to search for them.

Meghan, thanks for the infor about keeping the credits.  Where did you find that or do you just "know"?  I'm still feeling dumb about that.  I thought that was the case - that you kept the credit but just wanted to have the right inforjation in my head.

Geri-

The part I cut & pasted is from the Help Center section about lost books.  Just go the the Help Center, click on Browse Help Docs and look on the right side, in the Quick Help box.  About 9 lines up from the bottom is a link that says "A Book I sent is lost in the mail!"  Click that and it will take you to the section I posted.

You can also find info on Credit Assurance by again going to the Help Center and type "PBS Delivery Confirmation" in the Search field.  It will bring up a link that says "How does PBS Delivery Confirmation Work?"  Click on that.  It's in there too. Just make sure you hover over the "Credit Assurance" part in bold blue to get all the details.

Hope this helps  :  )

BTW - Here is a copy of one of the PMs I sent in this situation:

RE: Book "A"

Good Morning,

I'm PMing to check up on this book. The DC is showing it as delivered on TUE the **th. I understand that you may be away from home or had an emergency, but I'm concerned that it may have been misdelivered.  If it hasn't yet arrived, could you please let me know? If it has been misdelivered I'd like to file the mail theft/loss form right away so it will hopefully be found. I already have my credit, so that really isn't an issue for me, but this is not the easiest book to find and I'd hate for you to not get it.

Thanks,

Meghan/bookreadera
