Normally when I send out packages and such (like selling things on ebay or sending a friend a package) I put stickers and cutesy things on the packaging...and I use cute stationary inside to write whatever that needs to be writen...like my return address and such. Is this looked down upon on this site? Or do people not mind?

I do that, too :) I collect Hello Kitty stampers and such and always "cute up" my packages...

Looked down on? I'm not sure, but I do it anyway ^_^

I don't know if stickers are looked down on, but I've received packages with them... I like it.... 'Cute' makes me smile!  :)

I get stickers from everywhere, and I save them, but don't write enough letters to use them all, so now I know what I can do with them.  Thanks for asking.  Pat

I have brown paper with pretty designs on it, and I have put heart stickers on packages around Valentine's Day - although I ran out & didn't buy more this year.  I think it's sweet & thoughtful when people personalize things, so it's fine with me if they want to cover my packaging with stamps & stickers.  As long as the address is clearly visible, why not?

I love using stickers or pretty paper.  Got a book wrapped in a calender page the other day.  It made my day!

I'm not happy when the books come with Jesus or political stickers.  Hello Kitty would be welcome.  But pushing politics or religion is not what I want out of PBS.  There are forums for that.

My best friend has her kids draw on the paperbags.  And that becomes their shipping paper.  That is always a joy to get.  Crayons hold up well to weather.  (Kid's markers don't.  Water based.)

I wouldn't like political or religious stickers either.

Kim- Where did you get that paper? I really like it! :-)

My dad sent me a package with pictures of Texas taped to the box. It was awesome and totally made my homesick. So, stickers are cook in my opinion :)

Who cares what other people think?  If you like the stickers (even political or religous themes) and they do not violate Postal Regulations - knock yourself out!

Jenn - I got it at a Dollar Tree store.  If you don't have those where you are, it's one of those stores where everything in the store inventory costs $1, and the paper is in the gift wrap aisle.

I rubber stamp my book wrappers and stickerize them, too. I've been thinking a lot lately about how PBS packages would make a great medium for mail art. So many of you appear to be sticker people, and therefore into decorating things, are any of you into mail art? The least little "Hello Kitty" sticker on an envelope, and nothing else, constitutes mail art, of course--at the super-minimum of its definition--but I'm talking about the really beautiful stuff that dedicated mail artists make, which are so inspiring, when I see them, I want to get going right away on decorating everything I mail.

I'm sorry I don't have a good URL for the stuff right now--I couldn't find it when I looked just now--but if you google "mail art" you won't have any trouble finding lots of examples and if you're interested, info on its history and process. The nice thing about doing mail art in PBS is that the process is already here: we're mailing stuff. <grin> It's just a matter of decorating. Mail art is supposed to be sent off. It's ephemeral by nature.

books coming from me will be wrapped in wrapping paper, cereal boxes, left over scrapbook paper or hatever else is lying around.  almost all of my packages are wrapped in something besides plain paper or boxes.

I LOVE recieving fun pretty packages.  and stickers are fun!
