Is there a way to put my bookshelf on hold, but not my wishlist?   I need my bookshelf to be on hold for a week or so, but I want to be able to accept WL offers - without marking them "Auto Request".     I just now noticed that all my WL'd books are on vacation hold - that's not what I want.  frown

I don't think there's a way. Why don't you want to make them auto-request? I just marked the ones I definitely would want if they came up as auto-request and have let the others go on hold. That way if ones I might have changed my mind about spending a credit on and put on hold anyway come up, they won't be requested.

I agree with Anee -- choose a few books that you know you would accept if they were offered to you -- ones where you are high on the wish list  -- and put them on auto-request.  Leave the rest on vacation hold, and you're set.

I do have a couple books on auto request because I want them no matter what.  I just didn't want to go through my whole WL and try to decide what I'd definitely want sent to me - especially considering I'm home and available to respond.  Truthfully...a lot of books are on my WL because they look cool when I saw them originally, but by the time I actually get them offered, my interest may have cooled off.   I don't necessarily figure that out until they are offered.

I was really hoping there was a way I wasn't seeing to just put my bookshelf on hold temporarily (instead of the whole account).

Hey!  I think I've figured out the answer to my own question - but want to make sure.

In looking closer at my (behind the scene) bookshelf page I DO see that I can put individual books on hold - and that should leave my wishlist working as normal.

The question I have now (and I can't find this in the helps documents) is....does putting an individual book on hold affect its status in the FIFO line?  IOW, when I take the hold off an individual book, will it go back to where it was before the hold was put on it?

Can it be this simple?

If you put the books on your bookshelf on individual hold, they'll lose their place in the FIFO line.  Only WL books keep their place while they're on hold.

Bummer.  Thanks so much for the answer, Jenna.  I was so hoping.....

I wonder why I can't find this in the helps documents?   And I wonder why putting individual books on hold is treated differently than putting a whole bookshelf on hold?

sigh
