I can't afford postage at the moment.  If I decide to put a vacation hold on my account, will the books I have posted in the last few days remain at end of line or will they continue going up in line as someone orders? Is it simlar to how wishlist books are when on hold?

The books on your shelf will continue to move up the FIFO line.

Yes, they continue to move up as long as you use the actual "Vacation hold" button and not put each individual book on your shelf on hold. If you do that, it actually removes them from your bookshelf totally and will be at the back of the line when you unhold them!

I wish we could find out what number in line our posted books are.

Knowing where you are in the FIFO line would only be useful if you had some idea of how often the book is ordered. I know I have the only copy of several books in the PBS system, but if no one ever wants them... cheeky
