i'm going on vacation for a week...and want to put my account on hold for that time. However, I have seven books on my wish list that i'm currently first in line for. Do i need to make them "auto request"s to ensure i get them while my account is on hold? i'm confused.

Yes mark them as autorequest and make sure you have credits to cover any book that may be ordered while your gone.
