I am going on vacation soon. I want to leave my wishlist available for action but not my bookshelf.  I don't have a ton of books on it, only 100. I was thinking of deleting my entire bookshelf (after printing a list of it and the ISBNs) and then just inputting multiple isbns when I get home.  Does that sound too crazy?  Might be a good opportunity to 'weed' books with too many copies in the system.  Anyhow, inviting thoughts.  T

You can just put your account onVacation Hold that will prevent any orders from your bookshelf. You can put your wish list books (or just those you are close to the top for) on auto request and they will still be ordered if they become available. Any non-auto request WL books will still move in the FIFO line.

:)

I don't get why you would do that when you can just autorequest any WL books you are getting near the top for?  If you delete all your books, you'd have to wait for them to get to the top of the line again to be requested.

Just put you bookshelf on vacation hold and place your wishlist on auto request.

From your wishlist, any books on auto-request will continue to remain active even with your account on Vacation Hold.  Make sure you have enough credits tho, or the system could let transactions time-out and loose your spot on the wishlist.

No, this won't happen while you are on Vacation Hold. If you are on Vacation Hold and have no credits, you will just be passed over for the Wish List book that is on auto, it won't try to convert it to a 48hr hold while a Vacation Hold is in effect.

Using the Vacation Hold is the with WL books on auto is the most effective. You won't accidentally miss something the system wants you to respond to, anything you'd need to respond to the system will just skip you on. Just make sure to be using Vacation Hold and not that individual Hold button on the bookself, that effectively unposts the book.

Thank you Melanie.  And good to know, I'm going to be out of town a few days in July and don't want to miss out on wishlisted books while out of internet range.

Thanks!  I didn't realize that auto request would work with the account on vacation hold. Sounds like the perfect solution.  Terry
