Fat Chance...Adam Steele came to Highview with the idea of bidding on a chunk of valley land. Surprisingly, the competition looked slim, and as the auction date approached it appeared that the old Fairchild property was pretty much set to fall into the hands of one Jone Chance. Not that there was anything irregular, mind you. People just didn't like to cross Mr. Chance. The blacksmith tried to warn Steele. The sheriff more than hinted at it. The men at the sunset saloon were even more concerned, and nervous. Then big Bob Porter arrived. he was Mr. Chance's foreman, a huge bear of a man. He tried to be persuasive. He left the sunset saloon with a good head start at bleeding to death. Yes, it was certain to be a lively.. if not deadly..auction.
