I enjoyed this book a lot.
Once a mortal with a beloved family, william Cuylar Thorne is now a vampire on the prowl for blood and beautiful women. He has the perfect cover as an admired citizen of Savannah society. though Reedreck, the rutless old-world vampire who tried to destroy William, has been defeated, he still has his followers-and they will settle for nothing less than all-out war.
To counter this vicious band of European bloodsuckers, William organizes a vampire empire, which includes the handsomely slick Jack ; William's newly made eternity mate, the luscios seductress Eleanor; and a wannabe-badass named Werm. But as William and his team prepare for the ultimate showdown, the only hope for victory may lie with one woman, a vampire with unusual powers who holds the vampires fates in her hot little hands.

Different take on vampires and a fun way to present the story...clever continuation of the first story
Book #2 in the Savannah Vampire series -
I wasn't convinced after reading book #1, but book #2 has pulled me in and I am enjoying the books a lot more now. Still a bit hard to follow because of the way the author switches viewpoints between the two main characters, but I am definitely now looking forward to book #3.

William a 500 yr old master vampire who rules the area of Savannah, Georgia Jack is his fledgling, from the Civil War. This book begins just after the last book ends with Eleanor, being turned into a vampire. Jack , well Jack loves a human? that lights his fire in more ways than one.
Reedrek, Williams maker is trapped and now the Old World vampires are expected. A call for the American vamps brings several to Savannah to try to fight these Old World Evil ones. A rotting disease unknown before now how them scrambling for a cure, but vamps have never been sick before, and who caused it ?
The voodoo blood brings much to the clan of Savannah and brings a horrible danger to one of the much loved family members.
I love the different points of view in this series and how the story just takes off where the last one ended , no rehashing of events. I am off to read The Vampires Kiss, book 3
