Amy Mallory is a relief worker who is unexpectedly put in charge of a charitable organization in Afghanistan. Although experienced in a variety of third world cultures this is her first foray into a Muslim country. Steve Wilson is a former Special Ops soldier now serving as head of personal security detail of the Afghan minister of the interior. Do not think that this is a set up for a sweet little romance. This is the author's ingenious way of voicing different sides of the issues, allowing us to have a more complete perspective of the difficulties in this fascinating land. A variety of Afghan characters shed light from even more points of view.

The story is as engaging as it is informative. I'm hoping there's a sequel...
