Ok, so I ordered three books from a member that I had been dying to read (and luckily one person had them all!) Well, the books were two days from going lost, so I PMed the other member to see if something was going on (emergency, lost the books, etc). She responded that she had mailed the books and didn't know what had happened to them (she had been having problems with the mail). Well, lo and behold, it showed the books "accepted" the next day (she purchased D.C.).

I received the package today. One of the books was fine. The second one had 20 pages of water damage, and the third was completely WRONG. Not the title or the author.  A book that I actually read. And the book that she sent the wrong one was the book that I had originally ordered :( Aaaargh!!!

I marked both of the problem books as RWAP. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...this has to be the worst swap ever :(

Aww. I am so sorry that happened to you. That is very disappointing when that happens. :(

I hope she returns your credits with no problems.

Thanks Colleen! I guess I do sound pretty whiney, but it's a huge disappointment for 2 out of 3 to be RWAP.  I was polite, however, so I hope she will return my credits.

Sounds as if it was either a new member or someone swamped with books to go out.  I have a system for making sure the books I'm sending out are going to the right person.  I only wrap 1 book at a time.  The label/wrapper is placed inside the book until I'm ready to work on it.  when I do start to work on it I double-check everything from the label to book condition.  I have no other books near me at the time I'm wrapping.  So far so good.  It also helps not to procrastinate!  I am a procrastinator!  So this is a hard thing for me to do.  But I do it.  I hope all goes smoothly for you and everything gets worked out.  I have a pending problem with a sender who sent me the wrong book that was damaged  -  new member who's not impressed that I want to obey the rules.!

I put the different piles of books on the floor with the shipping label in the top book on each stack. I deal with one stack at a time.  Of course I rarely have multiple stacks going out at one time.

That's annoying & frustrating! I hope you can get things worked out in your favor & you get the book you were wanting to read!

It does sound like she might have been swamped... I ran a deal and holy cow!  I shocked the lady at the PO cuz I brought in over 20 packages at once.  I do what Sue does though... I make sure I print out the labels immediately and make sure it is on top of the books going out.

Still, that sounds horrible! I hope everything works out for you!

Wow, Tammy, what deal did you run?  My deals never get responses like that!

Aww! Thanks everyone for the sympathy! :) She hasn't responded to my PM's yet, so I don't know what is going to happen. It wasn't a deal, though...I used credits for all three books.

And I am definitely impressed with the 20 packages at the PO; that must have been some deal!!!!

It's not so hard to get that many.  I've sent as many as 22 or 23 packages at once just running 2 for 1.  It really depends on what you have on your shelf when you do it.  Even best selling popular titles that have lots of copies in the system can really increase your orders when you run a special.  Most people who look at them figure why order FIFO when you can get some of them free.  This seems like a pretty sloppy mix-up to me.  I've crossed labels one time because it was late & I was trying to hurry and get to the PO before it closed, but it's not all that hard to keep them straight really.  I print all of my labels at once too, and stack everything up on my table, but I always glance at the 2nd sheet & make sure it matches the book & the label before I start wrapping a book or seal a package.  Sounds to me like she definitely owes you a couple of credits, Virginia.
