Just looking for a little input about your experiences with his novels. Here are some of mine; I read his Marooned in Realtime books back in the 80s and loved them. They are one of only a few books that I have ever reread. I loved them. When I read A fire upon the deep I was very excited about this book based on my experience with Marooned. I did not enjoy that book at all. I have read reviews about Fire and the majority have been very positive, some people have just loved it. So I started to read Rainbow's End a couple of weeks back and I just can't get into the story. I am about 100 pages into it and I'm just not enjoying this one either. I'm a bit upset about it because the story looked very interesting and I thought I would have a different experience with this one. Not so though. Does anyone have input to share about their experiences with his novels?

I really like Fire Upon the Deep but not quite as much as Deepness in the Sky which I think is one of the best science fiction novels I've read. Still, I really liked Fire and I recommend it without hesitation to others. Sorry you didn't enjoy it. |

I loved both A Fire Upon the Deep and A Deepness in the Sky. Rainbows End I enjoyed as well although not as much as those two. I'm not sure why you didn't enjoy them, although I haven't read the Marooned in Realtime books. |
