The son of a Hudson's Bay Company trader Johnny Grant lived on the fronttier of the Snake River Country and the northern Rockies. He was a key pioneer of western Montana; "a man caught in the cross-currents of OIndian, Canadian and American cultures. Interesting bit of history.
