A friend of mine had a cute child's board book.  I thought I would swap for a copy for my son.  I found 2, same type of book but different subjects.  One I put on my wish list and one I asked for right away.  The first one never arrived.  I think its been 2 months now.  Missing.  The second one finally came up for a swap and the book was sent to me 6 weeks ago and is still not here!  Just one of those odd things.  I have not had any problems with missing books since I first started on here.  Now I have 2 missing books on their way to me.  And they are almost the exact same book.  I asked at the post office if they had any ideas and was told that there is this big new sorter somewhere installed over the winter.  She said stuff has been going missing or really delayed a lot since the new sorter was installed.  Not sure where it is, but its at a really big hub.  She said if stuff falls off it can dissapear.  Anyway, its just odd.

I've had that happen to me too.  It took 3 tries to get a book I wanted (it went lost the first two!)  It's just one of those things!

I wonder if, because the books were small, people tried to mail them at the cheaper first class flat envelope rate, instead of the more expensive first class package rate? I used to mail thin books that way and then discovered that the items had to be *bendable* because of some sorting equipment that was used.
