Has anyone read this book?  I finished it a couple of nights ago and found it excellent.  It's about an American student who goes to Egypt.  The book is the stories of the women she meets in her apartment building.

It's a different style.  The book reads like memoirs, though it's fiction.  The stories are interconnected, so it doesn't feel like a bunch of short stories.  Each feeds into the other and some of the people are related so that it connects in that way.  It mixes the present with the student and then each individual telling her about some part of their past life.

I liked the different approach.  I enjoyed it very much.  I found it very movind and sometimes forgot it was fiction.

I love to read memoirs and books that teach me something.  Sounds like a book I'd like to add to my wish list.  Thanks
