I love Miss Read! I reread them every couple of years it's like visiting old friends. Even though this story takes place in 1980 it still has the feel of a story that takes place in the 30s and 40s. It's about a small English village Fairacre and the inhabitants who live there. The story is written by a school teacher and she chronicles the daily going ons in the village, at the school and the neighboring town of Caxley. A must read for everybody.

Miss Read's school will be 100 years old and she needs to plan a celebration for the school children and their parents.
