Very informative and entertaining book detailing the history of classical music and the many great composters - from Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, to Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, to Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, to Copland and John Adams, to name but a few of the many who are covered in this book. A great book for any classical music enthusiast.
A composer-centered guide (as opposed to theory?), interesting biographies.
