Sigh ...
I just skipped the sex scenes whenever they appeared and looked for the follow-on section. They may have been repetative, but THAT fact has been true for the past 3-4 books. At least the first time did carry the story forward instead of being a pointless interuption.
That said, we move on to the actual story - what there is of it.
Gator's younger brother takes front stage in this book, along with yet ANOTHER team of Ghostwalkers (Team 5?). (Why would the Powers that Be create another team AFTER Dr. Whitney was discreditted was MY first thought.) We're back to the bayou, where secret experiments appear out of the swamp, literally. Wyatt and his team deal with even more bizarre experimental combinations and yet more layers (and lairs) to this global conspiracy. I will admit I loved the Viper Gang (the reason for the half star), but they and Nonny were the least stereotypical characters in this otherwise medicore book.
BTW. We already KNOW who's going to get the next book by the last quarterr of this one.
So read it if you want another chapter in this increasingly long toothed premise. But I'm gonna take this book off my wish list. I'll probably read Spider Game the same way I did this one - read and return to the library.

I'm sorry to say that this is the first book of Feehan's that is not going on my keeper shelf. The plot was weak, mediocre and plodding and did nothing to further the series story arc. You can skip this one and not lose track of the series. If you take out the massively repetitive and not so imaginative sex you are left with at most a short story or novella. I had hoped for a better more lush story for Wyatt. He went from a gentle man a healer to a kick-ass hard core badass into BDSM with terrible narrative that is chauvinistic and coarse. I love the Ghostwalker series and hope the next in the series gets back on track but this is just not a keeper for me.
