Author Lanier didn't get published until she was nearing 50. Over the next decade she wrote a half dozen " Bloodhound" books. I was lucky to read of her in our local paper. I live near the swamp where much of her heroine's action takes place. Sadly, she only lived for 10 years after starting the series but I'm grateful to feel like I know her. Rest in peace.

That reminds me of another woman who started late. Penelope Fitzgerald. She was 58 when she wrote her first book which was a biography I think. There is an article about her on wikipedia. She went on to write many novels and other biographies. I have one of her novels but I haven't read it yet.

Oh, a name from the past.  I really enjoyed the 'Bloodhound" series.  Odd though, I'd heard she didn't start writing until her 70's.  Doesn't matter.  But I bet she had a bunch more in her.
