good futuristic fantasy.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future, after discovering an ancestor's journal, a young girl must hide growing magical abilities from others. Basically. Tepper is always more complicated than that, and this story deals with her ever-popular themes of religion, intolerance, family relationships, and politics.
