The splendid, and unique, Arthur Crook, a British barrister who has never had a guilty client, returns in an intriguing mystery with a surprising twist. Anyone who has never read one of these books is in for a treat. It provides a detailed picture of life in London in the early 50's among the middle and lower-classes. Crook himself is as usual an amusing and likable character, but the book introduces as well a slew of other interesting individuals, especially the victim. I recommend it highly.
