A consumer's handbook for volunteers. Provides practical advice on how to find the right volunteer work and how to get along with your coworkers.
The advice about technology is a little dated, but the advice about people is right on target.
My favorite part was the alphabet of volunteer types:
Autocrats make everyone do it their way.
Bagpipes drone on (and on) at meetings.
Catalysts help things happen.
Dabblers do only small, short-term jobs.
Elastics bounce back, no matter what.
and so on . . .
