yes Just voted for him!

(You might get asked to move this over to the contests & giveaways forums -- if so, just change your post to direct people over to that one, and repeat the info. there, so he'll still be able to get votes)

I thought this was the correct forum for these kind of posts.

should I move it to the other one?

by the way, you can vote once per day

I think your post is fine here (but I'm a nobody).  Just giving you a head's up in case someone in charge asks you to move it there.  Though, I see a similar one asking for votes for a pet shelter was left here, so I think you're fine (unless you hear otherwise).

Thanks for posting it, and for letting us know we can vote once a day -- will vote again tomorrow!

Brandy the person who said this wasn't allowed in this forum was correct. The only forum voting threads are allowed is the Contests and Giveaway Forum. The rules of that Forum are below. Of course, until people know about the Forum and the rules there, they don't realize they can't post anywhere but there :) Good luck to Don. We lost a dear friend to ALS, it is a hard disease.

This is the only place on PBS where you can post about giveaways*, or "vote for my nephew to win this contest" or "visit my blog/website" etc.

Anyone submitting those types of posts anywhere else on PBS (including in PMs or forum sigs or profiles) will first get a warning, and repeat offenders may have their accounts terminated and be expelled from the club.

We think that some of our members might enjoy browsing giveaways, etc., but in general those posts seem like spam and interrupt discussions, so they will not be permitted in any other Discussion Forum (or anywhere else) here at PaperBackSwap.

*this term refers to giveaways OUTSIDE of the PaperBackSwap site; it does NOT include Book Bazaar-type deals/freebies.

So, here are the rules:

  • Do not post your blog giveaway or "visit my site" or "vote for..." message anywhere but in this forum
  • No one may start more than one topic here per day
  • You may not "bump" a topic more than once per day (bump = posting in the topic to bring it back to the top of the forum topics list)
  • You may not start a thread solely for advertising your business. This forum is only to announce contests and giveaways.
  • Any site to which you link in your topic here may NOT require any purchase, or the provision of any financial information, as part of the promotion

Again, anyone who in our sole judgment breaks the above rules will get a warning -  repeat or egregious offenders may have their accounts terminated and be expelled from the club.
