This is a well done YA book that includes considerable information and hits a lot of the ups and downs of his career. I looked it over carefully and am better informed. I myself still agree with Booker T. Washington in the need for practical skills to get ahead--that was even more true in the 'Days of McKinley.'
The illustrations are well done.
There is a list of Dr. Dubois' books, a time line, a bibliography, and an index offered.
