Bravo! My 5 wk WL dry spell is finally over. I just received a WL offer and I'm chuffed.

Congrats! I had a wl book but it was cancled, 2x.

Easy come, easy go apparently. The first WL book offer I had in 5 weeks just timed out! Why would someone post a WL book only to have it time out?

I've had that..sometimes they repost it, you get offered it again and it times out again. Thank goodness it's not often.

Someone told me she has been #1 for a specific book since some point last year and today she looked and she is #4 - how do 3 people get in front of you if you have not put your account or that book on hold?  She thinks it might be because of all the update trouble but I would be upset also. 

The other 3 had their accounts on hold. Once they stop the hold, they go back in line at the number they were wben they set the hold.

Why would someone post a WL book only to have it time out?

Parts of the South and Midwest have been hit/are being hit with some atrocious weather...I recently lost power for nearly a week due to weather, so perhaps it was posted in good faith but Mother Nature intervened?

Michele, she mentioned that they could have been on hold but what is the chances that 3 people all had a book with 4 wishers on hold for several months and unheld them on the same day.  Kind of hard to believe.

I don't know. I just know I have that as well..I'll be number 3 and the next time I looked I was 5.Then an offer I guess went through and somehow Ianded at spot 2 but haven't moved.

That has always confused me honestly.

I got my first wl offer for a book this year.  They mailed it today!  Yay!  

Well, I have 4 so far this year which would  be insuffiient to justify a renewal as a limited member, Lots of factors and no one's fault. So many different moving part contribute.

I have been around since 2008 and loved this site. Some of the issues are PBS controlled and some out of their control. Not sure it works as a business model but it clearly works for the universe of friends exchanging among themselves who particpate in games or whatever. It is evolving and will likely be much smaller as it is serving a much smaller population. 

If I didn't participate in games..which is the same 35 people..I wouldn't ve standard. I don't get many wl books fifo. I do get a few through friends sometimes but not many. I'm surprised when I hear people who say they get a book or 2 every couple weeks..
