I recently posted a book I had listed in my TBR pile and there was a green W next to it.  I thought this meant it was on someone's wishlist so it would go straight to the request process and not be put on my bookshelf.  It's been 3 days and it's still on my bookshelf and no requests have been rec'd.  As a member less than a year, this is the first time I've seen a W next to any of my books before I posted them.

When you posted the book to your shelf did you use the option from your TBR or go to post a book where you rekeyed the ISBN#?

Just wondering if it was possible that one of them had a different ISBN# and that is why one was WL and one wasn't.

ETA:  Which book is it?

I am guessing that perhaps there was only one person wishing for the book, and they changed their mind and used the 1-hour buyer's remorse to cancel it. Then it would go to your bookshelf until someone requests it.

I would say that well over half the almost 600 books on my TBR have either the red or green W's on them, but I really don't pay them any attention. The wishlists change very rapidly as books are posted, as people change what's on their wishlists, etc.

Subject: "W" no longer shown in transaction archive?

I'm going to try piggy backing off this question, since I have a similar one about the "W" that indicates a book is on someone's withlist.

I used to be able to go to my transaction archive to see whether any of the books that I've received in the past are now being requested on someone else's wishlist. That way, if I wanted to repost a book, I know I have a chance of someone requesting it, and I might be able to get a quick credit. I don't see any Ws in my archive anymore. (I never use my TBR list, so I have no books listed there.) Were the Ws removed from the transaction archive?

Thanks,
Cheryl

I guess it was on my Bookshelf that I found the Ws, and not on my transaction archive. I always forget that the Bookshelf also shows books that I've received in the past.

I answered my own question! :-)

Cheryl, you waited a long time to get around to posting in the forums, only to come in and prove you don't need us!  Good on ya, and :-P are all I have to say about that lol.

Jeanne, the Swap is funny like that when it comes to wishing.  I took a year off, and came back to find books I had on my Wish List a year ago are now common to the system, and books that used to be on my Reminder List in abundance are now boasting long lines of wishers.  There's ebb and flow to everything, I suppose.  Hopefully there's still plenty of interest in the book you've posted, with a requester right around the corner waiting to pounce.
