Ths morning my WL clocked in at 500. I have had no offers today butit's suddenly down to 482. How does this happen/ Worse yet, how do I figure out which have disappered?

Try resorting and see if the rest reappear......meaning if you have sorted by Title try by author.

If a book has no author listed, then when you sort by author it disappears instead of just falling to the end of the list. Sort by anything EXCEPT author and you should see all your books.

Just tried resorting everywhich way. By author dropped me down to 470 but recovered back to 482. Still irked that I don't know where those other 18 disappeared to.

I had something similar happen to me once, my WL was in the 480s and then suddenly jumped to 500. I contacted PBS about it, they looked into it and due to a glitch in the system suddenly several books on my WL were wished for multiple times...several wishes for the same ISBN. They removed the extra wishes and all was good. Perhaps you had a similar happening?

I have now contacted PBS to see if those 18 lost WL books can be recovered. Sadly I've no idea which books have disappeared.

PBS replied. Apparently the system cleared my WL of books that aren't allowed, in this instance coloring books and puzzles as they are considered one time use books and not appropriate for trading. Luckily TPTB included a list of the removed ISBNs so that I can look for these books elsewhere.

aaahhhhhh, good explanation. I've always wonderer why books that 'aren't allowed' were able to be WL and even ordered in the past.  thanks, Marya, for letting us know the answer to this mystery!

Ooooh... I may need to keep an eye out. I know for a fact that I have some non-ISBN listings hogging space on my WL just-in-case.
