I did a search on my wishlist to bring up all my wl books of a particular author.  I about choked because I didn't see books on there that I KNOW I wl'ed (one of which I knew I was #1 for!)  So I sat and went through my actual wl and found 4-5 books on my wl that were not included in the search.  Is there a limit on how many books pop up when you search your own wl?  I found this very odd.

Searching by author sometimes cuts out certain books from showing up--for example, compilations (books with short stories by multiple authors) and such. If you re-sort your list alphabetically again, the 'missing' books should show back up again.

Nope.  Didn't happen.  :(  I don't have any compliations or short stories from this author on my wl either.  'Tis very strange.

I've noticed this, too, and as yet have no idea what causes it.  I was putting together a series earlier in the year and some editions just never came up when I searched.  I knew I had X number of books on my reminder list but every search came up short.  For a while I thought it was an exclusion of non-ISBN listings, but that's not really the case.  It just seems some titles won't come up when you search within your lists.

I can't offer any explanation, but I can say it happened to me the other day, too.  (and my intitial reaction was much like yours, Michelle, lol)

i've noticed searching your own WL is glitchy, particularly when searching for books that haven't been released yet.  when this happens, i often end up just doing a general PBS search to find the book, and make sure it still has the auto-tag for on your wish list.  after confirming it's there, then i'll just go look for it manually if i need to know what number i am.  for a while it seemed to be working better, but now it's back to glitchy.

I have found that the WL search does not work well in general. I wouldn't put too much stock in it. Just sort by author and then scroll through--that's my suggestion.

I have to agree.  It's hard to find books sometimes on the WL.  I've had to do it manually. Now that series seem to be growing in length and popularity it can get to be a real hard job.  Any more I just have one of the book sites that have info on authors and books coming out as a back-up so I can get the ISBN.  I have found that it is much more common for the book to be "Untitiled" than not to have an ISBN.
