I always hear about people putting their wishlists on hold when they are running low on credits or for other misc reasons. I know that putting it on hold "saves" your place in line. But do you move UP in line also? For instance, if I am number 46 out of 200 but like 20 are posted a week, and I put my WL on hold for like a month, when I 'unhold" it, will I be at number 1 (assuming other "holders" aren't doing the same thing the same day) or will I remain at 46? This is a totally hypothetical question just curious as to if you move up in line while on hold or not... |

Yes, you move up in line if your wishlist is on hold, but you're if at number 1 and the book is not set for auto-request, you'll be skipped over. |

I always tell people to think about it in terms of a your place in line instead of your number in line. If you got in line behind granny you will stay behind granny while you are on hold. If granny gets to the front of the line and gets her book, you will be the first in line, but the people behind you will get offered the book until you remove the Hold. The Wish List Hold trumps Auto-Request so if it is on Hold, it will not be offered to you even if it is set to Auto-Request, you need to remove the Hold to get the offer. Think about it in terms of the date and time you added the book to your Wish List. Apparently that is how PBS tracks it. Anybody who has an older time is above you on the list and anybody with a newer time is below you on the list. And, that's how it is done. When you go on hold, the book keeps the same "added to WL" date and time. |
