I just got innundated with WISHES GRANTED.  13 in the last 5 days  I am trying to stock back up on my credits so I want to still be able to send out requests.

no, you can put your account on hold but, that is your entire account...with the upcoming new system you'll be able to select what you want to put on hold but, at present it is all or nothing.

Funny, I thought that had already been implemented. In the last week I've had two of my wishlist items fulfilled (Auto Request), yet my account has been on hold for over a month while I try to catch up. I LOVE IT! I am thankful I am not losing out on my wishlist items because I can't keep up with the outgoing...

(Edited to add) .... OMG just took my shelf off hold for a MILLISECOND to see if anything spectacular would happen -- wouldn't you know it four wishlist holds appeared. I should have known better LOL. Guess I'll be going to the PO tomorrow!

You can put your entire account on hold and still get WL books thanks to the Auto Request feature.  [But you have to set the books to Auto Request.]

At this time you cannot do the opposite, which is put your WL on hold, yet still have your Bookshelf available.

If some of the books you have WLed have short or well moving lists, and you don't mind losing your spot in them, you could always consider moving your WL to your Reminder List.  But like I said, you'd lose your spot in the WL queue.

Melissa: I have my shelf on hold to stop the WL offers for a move.  A couple times that's happened to me when I've posted a WL book, another one has come up as WL.

One time I took if off hold long enough to post a book and 2 WL offers for me came through.  I had to turn them down.  I can't trust media mail to get to me in time.

I guess I spoke too soon -- of the four WL wants that popped up only one actually came through. All others were cancelled. Guess they changed their mind! Funny too, because one book that was requested it was its second time being wishlisted & then cancelled. Maybe it's cursed. LOL

I'm glad that the Auto Request works the way it does, I wish I could get more of my WL books fulfilled. I find I am having to stop my outgoing more often because my bank account can't keep up with the mailing costs until payday. And, even then, sometimes that check is spent even before it comes! :-(
