I was just notified that one of the books that I have been waiting on is now ready....the prob. is no credits.  I have one book in the mail and I am mailing off 3 tomorrow, is my only choice to buy a credit or is there something else I can do?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You could go over to the Book Bazaar and start a post asking if you can borrow a credit from someone and let them know you've got books in the mail so you could pay them back soon.  Also, several people sell credits there for less than you can buy them from the PBS Kiosk.

Asking to borrow a credit has some rules to it.  And one is to be sure to pay it back and to limit the request so it doesn't become a habit.  When you gather a few buddies that share your interests, you can ask them.  If you have Paypal you can purchase credits through the Book Bazaar from members who are offering them for less than the kiosk does.

Yes, the rules Ruth is talking about are posted in this post at the top of the Book Bazaar.

What I do when I get a WL offer and no credits, if I have a book already requested of me, I use PBS postage and DC and mark that badboy mailed ASAP, thus getting the needed credit.

Occasionally, I will have to post a book and hope it gets accepted fast. When I do this route, I always PM the person who is waiting on me to accept so they know why I am taking forever to accept it, and that if my book doesn't get requested fast enough, I will either buy a credit or borrow from a friend, ensuring them I will not let it time out.  So far this has worked well the couple of times I have had to do it, the most recent time the person who was sending to me even offered to loan me a credit if my book didn't get snatched up fast enough.

You mentioned you have 3 books you are mailing off tomorrow. Use PBS postage for one of those books and you will get your credit immediately.

If you are running out of time to accept the WL offer: you can print the postage for one of the books tonight and just adjust the mail by date to Monday if you can't put it in a mail box today or tomorrow.
