When I go to my wishlist to check on the status of things, it is coming up sorting the list by title.  No matter how many times I change it to estimated it keeps going back to alphabetical.  I know before about a month ago, it would stay on estimate sorted.  Anyone know why it won't stay where I put it?  Is there some new setting I am missing?

Your browser is probably clearing your cookies automatically when it closes.

PBS saves the "sort" settings in a cookie for your browser. You will have to reset those each time your browser clears cookies.

I haven't changed any settings on the browser, why would the browser start clearing cookies on its own?

ETA: checked the cookies and the only one there is for PBS.  Not sure what it does, but apparently the cookie that remembers my WL setting is gone.  Thanks for the help.

Carole, mine is doing that too. I have to change it everytime I go to my WL page. It's not saving my sort preference. It just started doing this recently too. It always used to save the category I ended with previously - now it defaults to the title category every single time. It's an irritation but at least it's a minor one. I think it's PBS glitch.

Have either of you had security updates lately? The System I use aggressively protects my system. It is constantly reconfiguring my internet security.

I also wonder if there is any chance that if a friend visits your WL and re-sorts to make it easier to see if they have any books you are wishing for if the system leaves it where they put it.

Nancy, mine defaults to "title" no matter what computer I'm on.

As for someone else resorting my list - I supposed that could be a possibility. It never did before though. I used to stay where I put it.

I have my firefox settings to always delete cookies, so after I login, I have a bookmark for my wishlist to sort it the way that I want it sorted.

So, sort your wishlist (or reminder list) the way you want it and bookmark/favorite it. It will always come up that way AFTER you have logged in.

Meaning, login, then use the bookmark.

I actually have four bookmarks in one folder. I login, then go to the folder, right click and "open all tabs." Then the four tabs open up and I'm in PBS heaven.  (remember that I use firefox, not IE or chrome)

If someone else sorts your wish list a certain way, that doesn't effect how you would see it.  Several people could be looking at it at the same time, and all could sort it differently.  Jane's way of sorting doesn't effect the way Hortense sees it.  It's likely the effect of a security update on your computer, or of a browser update.
