I have 197 books on my WL and only around 12 or so are even estimated on when I may receive the books. Does anyone have this small of a %? I know some of my books haven't even been published yet, but not the majority. And some I've been #1 since I joined, not much chance there, but I'd like to see more estimates!

It's a new system and I imagine it'll take some time for that info to be accurate-especially for books that haven't been posted for a while.

Mine is about the same, but quite a few of mine are not yet published. As Mary said, I'm sure it will take some time for the system to gather enough data to estimate more accurately, especially for those infrequently posted books.

I wonder if it takes into consideration the number of people who get tired of waiting for a book and either buy it or get it from the library and then delete it from the WL? Or if the estimates are only based on # of copies posted and how often?

I only have about 10 that actually have estimates. Those seem to be the popular series ones that get traded regularly. Everything else says it can't give an estimate.

I think that right now the estimates are pretty much the number of people ahead of you divided by the number of copies posted in the previous week. It doesn't seem to be taking any average of how many books come into the system over a month or so. I've seen my wait for a copy start varying widely for this reason. I have one book that I can expect to receive a copy of in 519 weeks. Only one copy was posted last week and I'm #519 on the list. Last week 10 copies had been posted and the wait was 52 weeks.

Pretty much the only good thing that I have gotten out of the updated list is seeing that some books I never expected to get have been posted recently. Like 3 copies of HP & the Goblet of Fire in Russian two weeks ago! So there is hope for these titles that I assumed were quite obscure.

I have few estimates.  I have weird titles and not yet published titles on my WL -so there's little data for them to base any estimate on.

I have 26 WL'd and 18 have no estimate.  Longest wait 180 weeks.  If I get close to the time I want to read it I'll find it elsewhere.  One of those with no estimate isn't available as a mmpb yet, coming out later this year.  I should be #1 for that.

I'm guessing that they need to have X amount of books sent in X amount of time before they can make any kind of estimate.

I also have very few estimates and the ones that have them change often. Sometimes they change day to day.

I have 172 wishlisted books and only 4 have estimates. However most of my wishlist books are for obscure physics and other science books. What can I say,  I married a rocket scientist.;)

Over half of mine have estimates and the rest haven't been published yet or have just been released.

I have 198 books on the list, and 5 have estimates, ranging from 6 weeks to 92 weeks.  The book that was 391 weeks last week, this week is N/A.  From what I can see, the estimate is strictly based on the number of books posted in the prior 7 days.  But don't lose hope, because a book that had been showing N/A was recently offered to me!
