I was quoting a verse in my mind to myself and it came out "Don't worry about anything, instead WORRY about EVERYTHING." What ? Ooooops ! Something is wrong with this quote.I certainly don't need to be encouraged to worry about everything. LOL. I was in Safeway and it struck me a little funny. It should have been "Don't worry about anything, instead PRAY (not worry) about everything". I don't know what translation this is. Maybe it's a paraphrase. But here's the verse in NIV Philippians 4:6-8 (New International Version)6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Have you ever accidentally misquoted something, which completely changed the meaning of the original quote ?

Both of those misquotes sound like something I would think to myself, then wonder what I got wrong. Thanks for the chuckles. |

Not only have I caught myself misquoting various things in my head to myself but I also catch myself misreading or mishearing things said. Too bad I don't remember a good example off of the top of my head. If I come up with one I'll post it. What have you all misread or misheard ? P.S. I think some of the mishearing certain words is happening when I'm having sinus problems and have a hard time distinguishing certain sounds.
