I was offered a BOB and sent the book with d c from paperback swap. The receiver e-mailed last week to ask if I had mailed it as she had not received it. I e-mailed that yes I had and from what I could see it was last tracked in Jersey City . On December 7y she gives me a negative rating saying that the book was not received and that it was 'supposedly' mailed on the 9th. Today I get a letter from USPS Atlanta Mail Recovery Center saying that the wrapper was found intact in the mail but the item was missing and to fill out the paperwork to report this. THey mailed the paperwork and the wrapper to me. I received this person's book and gave her a postive rating. I'm really angry with her for implying that I hadn't sent anything (Because I always pay for postage and dc when I'm mailing nothing!) and for not giving me a chance to rectify anything. I had no idea it wasn't on it's way to her until today! I am mailing her book back to her. THis has reallly left a bad taste in my mouth...........Christine |

Did you get the DC through PBS? I don't do the BOB right now so I'm not sure how wrappers are printed through there. If you got the DC through PBS, you should be able to get the bad feedback changed I would think. |

Can she change the rating that she gave to you? I would send her a PM along with the DC number of the package that you sent so she can look at the tracking herself and see that you actually did mail it out but something happened to it along the way. Or did you already do that and she is ignoring it? |

You can also "respond" to her negative rating in your BOB feedback section- (Under completed boxes, I believe.) I would definitely put on there about how you received the letter and wrapper back from the P.O. (with the DC tracking #, if you wish), so that anyone else who looks at the details on your feedback ratings will see that she's just being snarky about something that was completely out of your control. (Maybe she'd been burned in a previous box trade by someone?) That's a bummer when you did everything right. I'm sorry you had that experience. Most of the time, boxing is enjoyable, but I've found that I am starting to get more selective about who I box with and about checking ratings first. I know that once those ratings are entered, the other member can't change them. I'm not sure if TPTB can or would be willing to change feedback ratings, but at least your side would be there too for other members to see. Good luck! |

Thanks everyone for being so kind about this! It's so disheartening-I've had perfect ratings and I would accept it if I had not mailed the book, not respnded to her message or had chosen not to make things right..............but I feel like I was blindsided with this----I had just renewed my BOB a few weeks ago but now ----I think I'm going to give it up- and just go with the credit -for -book deal. I have had no problem with that!.........Thanks again everyone........Christine |

Becki--sorry I didnt' answer your question. Yes I did send her the dc # when she contacted me. I guess she still didn't believe me..........because the next time I heard from her was when she left the negative.......Chistine |

Was there any scans along the way on your DC? Just wondering because the existance of a DC doesn't really tell her you mailed it so she may have just not believed that it was actually mailed. Doesn't really mean she should imply you are lying in feedback, but stanger things have happened than a member printing a DC label and then never sending the books. I'd just reply to the feedback saying the package was mailed with DC, but reported to you as damaged and lost by the USPS and that you are making sure to wrap packages extra secure to ensure that doesn't happen again. |

If I'm reading the OP correctly, the dc was tagged enroute in Jersey City, so a DC search would show 'something' was mailed. *hugs* Christine, I especially agree with Debbie's comment. |
