So with all this talk about people passing up books on their wait lists and the posters of the books getting antsy (I would too)...here is the opposite.

I requested a book very very soon after it popped up in my mail as a wish granted.  I mean I practically burned rubber on the keyboard, as I couldn't type fast enough to accept.  I was sooo excited!!!  Well....it's been 7 (SEVEN) whole days and all the request says is accepted.  Not printed and accepted.  Just accepted.  There are 40 people on the wish list for this particular book.  Here I am being the responsible one and accepting immediately and nothing is happening!  Kinda frustrating!

I also have another book that was a wait list and she said she would mail it by the 25.  Every day I logg on to PBS and nothing.  It still says will mail by 2-25.  UGH!  I just get so excited about gettting books that it frustrates me when nothing happens.

If someone requests a book from me, I try to send it out the next day if its a paperback!  I know how much this means to people.  We all love to get those packages in the mail.  I do a little happy mail dance when I get one.

Anyway....sorry for the rant.....just wanted you to know another side of WL situation!  :-)

Happy Reading!

Tonia

Well, fortunately for senders (and unfortunately for receivers!), the system allows for a good amount of time to accept and then send a book.  I usually accept right away, but mark the very latest mail-by date just to give me some breathing room on mailing out.

I've had a couple of WL books come up, having been posted by new members.  They never did get accepted at all -- but the accounts are still there.  :-(

Tonia,    I'm just like you - I do a happy little mail dance when I get a book too.  The difference between us is - I can only get to the post office once a week.  But I always mail when I say I will.  AND  I am always eager to acknowledge receipt in the system.  I know how much I appreciate it and want the sender to get his/her credit ASAP.

I had one WL book come up, I accepted, then it was canceled with the note "Books are reposting when they shouldn't again."

I hope this isn't true, though I had a book requested from me I don't remember ever having, and it was only posted a month ago. Fortunately there was another one in the system for the person, so I didn't feel too bad at having to cancel.   But I do hate doing that!

I know how you feel. I've had a few it happen a few times and it's disappointing. You get so excited, especially when it's a 'speciality' book, and then the request times out. Sigh.

One time, I landed up mailing out a book later than I thought because of a surprise snow storm that hit in the middle of the night. We have one going on right now.  (why is it when we're told to prepare for a large amount of snowfall we get a dusting, and now our 'dusting' is turning into over an inch with no appearance of stopping)

I actually have a couple of wishlist books to post but I'm waiting until I know I'll be able to get down the hill from our house. I know how excited I get and don't want to disappoint anyone by holding off accepting or accepting and then having to delay in shipping.

I hope your book gets mailed soon.

Tonia, I'm betting that payday is tomorrow, and it'll be in the mail then.

It sure is hard to wait, though, isn't it? :)
