"Waiting to Surface" is a story about the alleged disappearance of a husband who leaves behind only an airline ticket, pieces of a sculpture and two drawings. Is it an accident, suicide or something else? Listfield keeps you guessing to the very last page.

I thought this book started out a little slow. From reading the cover the reader guessed that the husband would disappear. However, after getting past that point, the book really seemed to speed up and I couldn't put it down. After Todd disappears, Sarah thinks that he is dead and isn't coming back. The private detective that she has hired thinks so too. After all, wouldn't he try to contact Eliza, his child, after all this time? Sarah tries to rebuild her life while meeting a new man and juggling her drowning career. I really did like this book, and I think that it possesses enough mystery to intrigue any reader.

The story line was okay, but I don't like being left out in the open to dry. I would have liked a different ending. I would like to have known what happened to the husband in the story. Oh well, can't win them all.
