I've been waiting for 5 days for a member to accept the request for a WL book. I looked at her status tonight and she put her bookshelf on hold tonight. So what happens to this WL request? It's still stating it's waiting for the member. Am I automatically put back on the FIFO line? I'd hate to lose out on another book coming in while I am tied up in the system with this one. I had a feeling a few days ago that this newbie was just posting books to get her free ones and has now bailed. |

If she doesn't accept or cancels the order, you will be put back in the FIFO line... She may not have put her account on hold. If a member misses a certain number of requests (maybe like 2 or 3), PBS automatically puts their account on hold. People just getting their free books and bailing is sad. But letting the request go through weeds out the inactive/non-deicated members! |

It'll go back on your WL if she doesn't mark it mailed. Just because her account is on hold doesn't mean she won't send the book. I frequently put my account on hold. She could be overwhelmed with requests and went on hold until payday or she receives a few books. Many newbies come on and post a lot of WL books and then all the books they want are WL. They worry that they will send out all these books and never get any in return. So they go on hold, put their WL books on autorequest and wait. So your request might still be honored. I just put my account on hold. I had a run on orders from my shelf. Including a few books that I posted quite a while ago that were heavily posted. (so they do get ordered) For the past month I've spent $20-$30 a week on postage between book orders and games. I don't need any credits right now and I have 500 unread books. So I'm hold until I catch up a bit. |

I just had a member do that to me too. She posted the book and the next day put her account on hold. She accepted it at the last minute and selected the last mail by date and then never mailed it so I am back to waiting..oh well!! Hopefully yours will work out better!!! |

I just had the same thing happen that Kenda did. I've put my account on hold before, but not before taking care of any requests first. Ditto the oh well. |

Any transactions already in progress will continue whether or not she put her account on hold, but if she hasn't replied in 5 days then it'll go to the next sender in line, you shouldn't lose your place. |

My account is on hold to slow down the incoming WL book offers while I catch up on my reading and post some more books. I've been taking my shelf off hold, posting WL books, and then putting my account right back on hold, so I can send out a book but not get any incoming book offers. So the account on hold doesn't always mean that the person isn't going to mail. And if the person doesn't, at least you're going to be back at #1 on the WL for the next copy. |

So the account on hold doesn't always mean that the person isn't going to mail. I agree. Just like Jane I too have my account on hold. I'm still posting and mailing out wl books. I'm trying to cut back on postage but have accumulated a bunch of WL books. So I placed my account on hold to avoid getting orders through FIFO. As I can afford it I unhold my account, post the wl books and put my account back on hold again. |
